Fulhan announced the USMNT star's new contract Friday afternoon, giving the 36-year-old a one-year extension to make it 10 years as a Cottager for Ream. He joined Fulham in 2015 from Bolton Wanderers and has had an incredibly successful career at Craven Cottage since.

“It’s nice to get this done. To be somewhere for as long as I have, it takes a lot of hard work. To be able to say you are looking at being at a place like this for ten years is not something that happens very often these days," he said the club's media. "To be someone who has that opportunity is a great feeling. It fills me with pride to continue to adapt, to continue this rollercoaster that is football.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Even at age 36, Ream has been one of the top defenders at the club in 2023, and has been a standout performer for the USMNT of late as well. He started every match for Gregg Berhalter at the 2022 FIFA World Cup and has been a regular choice in competitive matches under him as well. The new deal will keep him as a Cottager until summer 2025 – one year before the USA hosts the 2026 FIFA World Cup. With this news, one would expect Ream to continue fighting for a starting spot heading into the tournament.
